synopsis

Set in 1927 and with the threat of persecution increasing, a young Jewish girl is sent overseas by her worried Russian family. Once she arrives in England, her identity and memory are stripped as she is re-named and given a new life. Ten years later, Suzie (Christina Ricci - Sleepy Hollow) leaves England for Paris to start a new life. While working in a prestigious opera company, she meets and falls in love with a gypsy horse-handler, Cesar Johnny Depp - Sleepy Hollow). As the Nazi threat intensifies, Suzie is forced once again to flee the life she has created and leave all that she loved behind.
