Ten Canoes (cert. 15)
synopsis
The first full-length feature film made entirely in indigenous Australian languages, Ten Canoes captures the adventure, the mystery and the drama of a magical and ancient tribal world. Journey back thousands of years into the mystical past and deep into the Arafura swamp region as ten select tribesmen set out on their annual goose egg hunt. The drama heightens and intrigue deepens as secrets emerge and an ancient and salutary tale that delves deep into the tribes? history is told by the old and sage tribal elder, Minygululu. Warring tribes, sorcery, misunderstandings and plenty of bawdy humour combine to make a ring and beguiling film, an unmissable tale of magic and suspense.
